Woodsbury began in early 2015, Matthew the co-founder had begun the process of planning his proposal. After purchasing the ring and preparing the day, he realised all the work would be undone by using the large jewelers ring box. So Matthew designed, made and successfully proposed with the first wooden engagement box. From then Woodsbury was created, Matthew partnered with Jack to refine and create an engagement box that would help reinvent the timeless tradition of proposing.
"We focused on slimming down the traditional ring box and creating something that was as special as the ring itself. A box that would add an element of surprise and become a keepsake to make the memories of the day last forever."
After multiple drawings and tests using different materials and shapes the first Woodsbury engagement box was created.
"We had experience making high quality musical instruments and furniture from timber so decided to make each box ourselves. Our design allowed us to customise each box to suit the customer's ring, creating a much thinner profile than any other boxes on the market."
All Woodsbury boxes are still made this way, by hand, in the Woodsbury workshop in Sydney.
